Scheffey is seeking a team member to provide leadership over the strategic marketing for a specified group of clients and all of the projects to maintain strong relationships, provide effective marketing programs and sales tools, and deliver valuable service.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead/manage the strategic marketing for a specified group of clients 
  • Provide marketing counsel by maintaining a strategic vision for each client
  • Lead client planning meetings
  • Develop integrated marketing plans
  • Present/sell plans and services to clients and new business prospects
  • Lead/manage multiple programs, projects, and tasks with support from the other team members
  • Develop/manage strategy briefs, creative briefs, project briefs, and/or client reports
  • Effectively communicate marketing plan status to clients
  • Manage the accuracy of client content and brand attributes used in projects
  • Provide proactive, responsive, and thoughtful service to clients
  • Maintain awareness of clients’ businesses, competition, and industry
  • Identify new marketing opportunities for clients’ businesses
  • Approve project invoicing, manage the clients’ budgets, and be able to communicate status throughout the year 
  • Leverage business relationships to bolster the firm’s new business efforts
  • Continually keep aware of general business news and marketing trends

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful marketing experience
  • 2+ years working directly with clients (owners and/or c-suite level)
  • Experience in an agency or a client-side marketing department with the management of multiple clients/departments/organizations (favorable)
  • Degree in marketing or communications (desirable)
  • Ability to lead client strategic discussions to extract relevant information to be used for background, marketing plans, communications messaging, and creative development
  • Skill to discern salient points from among a vast collection of information
  • Capability to find clarity from complex and abstract thoughts about a clients’ industry, business, products & services, sales channels & processes, marketing needs, and trends
  • Ability to clearly articulate and effectively communicate information and identify key points through writing strategy briefs, creative briefs, project briefs, and/or client reports
  • Talent to develop or assist in developing – and lead team members who are contributing to developing – integrated marketing plans to present/sell to clients
  • Capability to support the dissection of plans into separate tactics and oversee the movement through the agency … including knowing how and when to leverage team strengths
  • Ability to balance a strategic view, client perspective, and prospect focus through implementing programs & projects and managing client relationships
  • Obsessive attention to details and compulsive big picture thinking & strategic vision
  • Marketing expertise … creative understanding … confidence in presenting a program and all components … power of persuasion
  • Inspiration for team members to excel … keep projects and people on focus, on task, on schedule, and on budget
  • Savvy to balance multiple priorities and re-prioritize based on new information
  • Ability to keep clients fully-engaged and very happy with Scheffey’s role on their team
  • Marketing & communications prowess … some level of business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the clients’ organizations
  • A good understanding of Scheffey’s areas of discipline: marketing, media, creative, public relations, social media, website development, and an  emphasis on digital marketing tactics
  • Understanding of the business development process
